At Safety Gear HQ your
privacy is protected in many ways. First of all our site uses
an SSL certificate issued by Starfield Technologies which
encrypts all of the information that you enter when you checkout.
As soon as you click the 'SECURE ONLINE' button in checkout,
the entire checkout process is secure and encrypted so that

How can you know for
certain that pages you enter are secure? In your browser,
you can tell when you are using a secure protocol in a couple
of different ways. You will notice that the "http"
in the address line is replaced with "https," and
you should see a small padlock in the status bar at the bottom
of the browser window.
In addition to your checkout
information, we also protect your e-mail and phone number
as well. Your phone number and e-mail address are asked for
during checkout only for our records in case we need to contact
you about your order. We do not give this information out
so that it can be used to spam your e-mail or otherwise. We
have the same opinion of spam e-mail as you do, so unless
you 'opt in' to our newsletter or other specials with your
e-mail address, you will not be contacted about anything except
your order.
For opt-in newletters
or specials that we might be running, we like to gather your
basic information only to send you our self defense product
newsletter or for notification of winning contests we might
be running. However, this information will not be shared with
anyone else except Safety Gear HQ. It will be kept in a private
database and not given out to anyone.
IP Address recognition:
For each visitor to our Web site, our Web server automatically
recognizes only the consumer's IP address, but not the e-mail
address. The information is only recorded in the shopping
cart database which is secure and encrypted. This information
is for the records of Safety Gear HQ only.
With respect to cookies:
We use cookies to record session information, such as items
that consumers add to their shopping cart.
